Turkish Storyteller/Group Facilitator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Turkish Storyteller/Group Facilitator with experience working with children aged 3-5 years to lead weekly sessions for our program, providing an engaging and interactive experience for our young participants. The successful candidate will deliver 4-hour sessions once a week from July to August, and then 2-hour sessions weekly for the remaining project period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and lead 45-minute Turkish storytelling sessions, using traditional Turkish stories, songs, games, and activities tailored to engage children aged 3-5 years
  • Prepare and deliver lesson plans, including educational materials and resources
  • Facilitate discussions and encourage participant interaction and engagement, using play-based learning methods
  • Build relationships with participants, fostering a positive and inclusive environment
  • Maintain accurate records of session attendance, participation, and feedback
  • Participate in regular meetings with the program team to discuss progress, share best practices, and address any challenges or concerns

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of Turkish culture and language (speaking, reading, writing)
  • At least 3-5 years of experience working with children aged 3-5 years in a childcare or educational setting
  • Experience in storytelling, group facilitation, or teaching for young children
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of children and adapt to their individual needs
  • Flexibility and adaptability in responding to changing circumstances
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Valid Work with children Card, police clearance, 100 point ID.

Work Schedule:

4-hour sessions (2 hours for storytelling and 2 hours for administration) once a week from July to August

2-hour sessions weekly for the remaining project period
